My Story
I am naturally a very curious person who seeks answers on life, and being human. Studying psychology allowed me to fine tune this curiosity to navigate the human experience, and to ask the hard questions. I want to give others permission to breathe, and sift through the highs and lows of life – to make sense of the self, and to step into the journey of self-discovery.
I come from a background where it isn't encouraged to express every thought or emotion. As I grew up, I realized this was actually harming my relationship with myself, and my relationships with friends and family. I was not happy with my quality of life. I felt confused, unsure, and as though no one could understand me. I decided it was time I went to talk to someone about it. As a client in therapy I felt understood, empowered to express my emotions, and I found joy in who I am.
My Approach
My Education and Credentials
I aim to respect and maintain the dignity of each person who walks into my therapy room. I offer empathy, navigation, and self-exploration. I make every effort to make the therapy room a safe place for you to express yourself. The therapeutic models I use are narrative therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy. My approach will vary for everyone as each person is unique and has different needs. I work with my clients to establish trust in order to relieve burden, and to create positive change. I empower you to develop and understand your goals, making them manageable and achievable.
I have a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Clinical Psychology with a Sociology Social Work minor from Redeemer University College and a Master of Arts in Psychotherapy and Spiritual Care from Wilfrid Laurier University. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
