Vulnerability is a struggle that I am all too familiar with growing up in an environment that did not always cradle it. Yet it was the heart of the change that was necessary to experience meaningful connection to myself, and with others. It was only when I felt accepted for myself that I could experience growth. It was only when learned to trust in myself time and time again that I could navigate uncertainty, ambiguity, and insecurity. Understanding this process is one of the most important aspects of what is explored in therapy. Utilizing our vulnerability as a powerful force for change is central to my story and I did not get there on my own. I became a psychotherapist to walk alongside my clients and to hold space for their stories. I welcome the opportunity to support you in carving a path forward in your life.
As a therapist, I recognize that challenges and issues can be engaged within a
container of safety, created by compassionate and empathetic therapeutic relationships. I am a firm believer that healing happens in the presence of such a connection. That the work of healing happens through reconciliation and/or through a reparative, restorative, and corrective experience. I integrate a holistic approach that is trauma-informed and nonjudgmental to respond to a diverse range of situations. These include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, addiction, trauma, and loss. I utilize acceptance and commitment therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and depth work to support my clients in making meaningful and practical changes in their lives.
