My Story

Since I was a child, I have been drawn to the uniqueness of individuals, their strengths, their struggles, and their stories. I was diagnosed with a chronic illness, which threatened my ability to achieve my goals. Not long after my diagnosis, a member of my family was murdered. These two events during my adolescence have shaped who I have become. At the time, my parents found a therapist for me. The first therapist I saw was not the right fit for me and I did not feel understood. The second therapist was the perfect fit for me! She listened to my story and my struggles without judgment and supported me throughout my journey. I feel very fortunate to have found the right therapist for me and I will always be grateful to my parents for their decision to find me additional support. Near the end of my undergraduate degree I realized that I wanted to become a psychotherapist. I wanted to support others the way that I had felt supported by my own therapist.

My Approach

My Education and Credentials

We all deserve to experience empathy, understanding, non-judgment, and safety in our lives. My integrative approach speaks to my philosophy that "one size does not fit all" especially within the therapeutic process. I use elements and techniques from many therapeutic models such as solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, person-centred therapy, and mindfulness. As an affirmative practice, I welcome and celebrate all that you are, and all that you have brought with you into our meeting. Together, I aim to explore what works for you, and how to best help you find what it is you are searching for. It is a privilege to join you on your journey.

I have a Bachelor of Arts (Specialized Honours) in Sociology from Glendon College, York University and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am currently a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I am also a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP).
