MA Counselling Psychology
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Before I was called to be a therapist, I was first a client. Dating back to 2006, I experienced anxiety to the point I felt overwhelmed and defeated. Some days were better than others; nonetheless, I found it challenging to identify, regulate and understand my emotions. It was through the guidance and support of my therapist that I was able to find hope and confidence in myself. My therapeutic journey sparked my interest in helping others, and so, my psychotherapeutic training began in 2012.
My specialty is in the treatment of low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationship concerns, life transitions and chronic pain. I am committed to an empathetic, collaborative and person-centred approach to therapy. Utilizing an individualistic stance allows me to accommodate your unique experience, needs and goals for treatment. Collaboratively, I aim to explore your past experiences and interpersonal needs to better understand current behavioural, emotional and social functioning. I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment that promotes your personal growth. I place great emphasis on the therapeutic relationship to enhance your self-awareness and change in behaviour, thoughts and beliefs.
My Education and Credentials:
I have a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology from York University and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
